Ashley Tisdale was born July 2, 1985 in West Deal, New Jersey, United States. She is an American actress, songwriter, singer and television producer best known for High School Musical film series.
Ashley Tisdale grew up in Ocean Township. Her mother is Lisa and her father is Mike Tisdale, the manager of a construction company. She has an older sister, Jennifer Tisdale, who is also an actress. She considers herself Jewish, her mother being Jewish. She was discovered at the age of 3 years old in her hometown mall by an agent who continues represent her even today. When she was just a child she appeared in more than 100 national network TV ads. At the age of twelve she was a well known singer, having the privilege of singing at the White House for President Bill Clinton.
Ashley Tisdale obtained minor roles in several primetime television shows such as "7th Heaven", "Smart Guy", "Boston Public" and "Bette" and in some films such as "A Bug's Life" and "Donnie Darko". Her breakthrough was in 2004 when she was casted as Maddie Fitzpatrick in the Disney Channel series "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody". Her performance was well viewed and she won an award for Best TV Actress at the UK Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
Ashley Tisdale was casted as the star in the film "High School Musical" (2006). Her beautiful voice appeared in several songs of the soundtrack. The soundtrack of the film became a top selling album in the United States that year. The movie was one of the most watched movies that year, having 7.7 million viewers. Having so much success in this movie Warner Bros. Records signed her for a recording contract in July 2006. She released her debut album, "Headstrong", in 2007. She also shines in High School Musical 2 (2007). This second film of the series had a total of over 18 million viewers in the United States. Ashley Tisdale continues to be the star in "High School Musical 3: Senior Year". The third film of the series earned $42 million in its domestic opening weekend. This is the biggest opening for a musical film.
