Alyson Lee Hannigan (born March 24, 1974) is an American actress who plays Lily Aldrin in the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother. Alyson Hannigan is also known for her previous roles as Willow Rosenberg on the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer and flautist Michelle Flaherty in the American Pie film series. Alyson began her acting career in Atlanta at the young age of 4 in commercials sponsoring such companies as McDonald's, Six Flags, and Oreos. She is a seasoned television actress veteran, guest starring in "Picket Fences" (1992), "Roseanne" (1988), "Touched by an Angel" (1994) and the "The Torkelsons" (1991) before starring in her most notorious role yet in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" (1997) as Willow Rosenberg.
Alyson Hannigan starred in American Pie(1999), alongside Jason Biggs, Shannon Elizabeth, Mena Suvari and Tara Reid. The second film of the series was released in 2001. Shannon Elizabeth, Tara Reid and Mena Suvari were casted in this movie. The last one was American Wedding (2003), where she appeared alongside with Seann William Scott, January Jones and Jason Biggs.
